It all started with a simple wine kit and grew to the 21 vines we planted in the side yard of our home. My husband and I entered the world of home wine making. Our first home made wine from our vines was a red wine blend, Bordeaux style. We used carboys with French oak cubes for ageing...I have to say, the first wine was good, but nothing to really brag about. We quickly discovered that oak barrels rather than oak cubes gave a much better flavor to our wines. Now, our small batch wine at home, is aged in oak barrels and tastes much better.

In May 2011, my husband and I purchased 27 acres of property that had 13 acres of established vineyard. For home wine making, we made a huge leap from 6 year old vines to 10 year old established vines of exceptional root stock. I will have to say, our home made wines are much, much better and certainly on the  fantastic side!!!

Our first vintage from this well established vineyard is our 2011 vintage; a barrel of Syrah, a barrel of Cabernet Franc, a barrel of Cabernet Sauvignon and a barrel of Petit Verdot. At this point, all wines are still in the barrel and have aged nicely.

The following blog posts will talk about each varietal and wine we are producing at this time....
